Reads Claude logs locally, shows usage + health warnings; zero dependencies, funny tone.

Strengths
  • Zero-dependency design means instant install and total privacy (npx ready)
  • Health warnings with humor signal genuine thought beyond stats (stretch hip flexors joke)
  • Correctly identifies real pain: people want to audit their AI tool usage
Weaknesses
  • Only works with Claude Code; won't generalize to other IDEs or tools
  • Niche audience limited to Claude users who specifically care about session tracking

Post Description

I built a zero-dependency CLI that reads your Claude Code session logs (~/.claude/projects/) and shows exactly how much time you spend with it.

Instant run: npx cc-session-stats

Shows: total hours, sessions, longest session, day-of-week heatmap, consecutive streak, and health warnings.

My results: 3,485 sessions, 116h, 47/50 active days, 35-day streak. The tool said: "Rest days exist for a reason."
