AI Analysis

MidBold Bet

Five years of work, but geofenced chat + reputation system don't differentiate from Snapchat Maps or Meetup.

Strengths
  • Reputation system (Reps) as spam-resistance mechanism is a thoughtful alternative to like-based ranking
  • Custom route builder with off-road path support and integrated trip planner shows domain depth
  • Geohash-based geofencing + expiring chats with message locking shows intentional feature design
Weaknesses
  • Location-based social is a crowded space (Snapchat, Discord, Meetup, Foursquare); no clear differentiation from established apps
  • 1+ downloads on Google Play after five years of development suggests product-market fit is unproven

Post Description

I had released my app Elm Social Route. It main features are to create geofenced chats, shares location-specific events, and plan trips with routes. It use geohash as geofencing. Has robust custom route built. And using Reps (Reputations) to replace likes. What you think?

I build it in 5 (feels long) years btw, and more if the similar predecessors I built before was counted.
