MidSolve My Problem

Yet another shortcut reference site when dozens already exist with identical data.

Strengths
  • Search by partial key combo like ctrl k or cmd shift works intuitively.
  • OS filtering lets you compare Windows, macOS, and Linux shortcuts side by side.
  • Fast single-purpose design avoids feature bloat common in reference sites.
Weaknesses
  • Dozens of keyboard shortcut reference sites already exist with no clear differentiation.

Post Description

I kept losing time looking up keyboard shortcuts. Not dramatically — just the slow accumulation of opening a tab, landing on the wrong page, finding a forum post from 2018, and locating the right shortcut four minutes later. Annoying enough to build something.

hotkeycheatsheet.com is a searchable reference: 134 apps, 24,126 shortcuts, organized by category. Filter by OS (Windows, macOS, Linux) and search by app name, action, or partial key combo — "ctrl k" works, so does "cmd shift".

I tried to keep it fast and single-purpose. Whether that actually worked is what I'm most curious about — happy to hear what feels off or missing.

Stack: Next.js, PostgreSQL, Vercel.
