AI Analysis

●●SolidNiche GemSlick

Built by organizers who ran 200 events themselves—real domain expertise.

Strengths
  • Dogfooding validates the product—founders ran 200 events on their own platform.
  • Dual-sided marketplace connects organizers with vendors, not just event management.
  • Regional focus (NJ/PA/NY) provides clear go-to-market rather than competing globally.
Weaknesses
  • Event management is crowded—Eventbrite, Peerspace, and local platforms already exist.
  • Limited appeal to HN's developer-heavy audience—this is a business tool, not dev infrastructure.

Post Description

We're software developers and farmers market/pop-up event organizers. In the past year we've run close to 200 events in NJ on Convene.markets - a booking engine, event management platform, and vendor marketplace for organizers to discover and connect with local makers, food purveyors, & farmers. We've spent the past few months opening up our platform for other organizers to now run their events and we'd love to connect with anyone running a farmers market, street festival or community event in the NJ/PA/NY region.

Marketplace for Requesting Intelligence via Bounties

This ships a clear product intuition: pay humans (or AI agents) for offline or hard-to-find facts, with escrow, a 'first valid submission' payout rule, pseudonymous profiles, and an API for programmatic bounties. Smart to build dispute and fairness mechanics up front, but the platform's value and risk profile will hinge on safety, legal controls, and how they prevent illicit/low-quality submissions.
