MidSolve My Problem

Custom niche news by email, but RSS + LLM wrappers handle this already.

Strengths
  • Context-aware deduplication; remembers past digests to avoid repetition and evolving stories.
  • Web citations let readers verify claims; Claude enforces sourcing discipline.
  • Zero monetization pressure; honest about cost concerns and free intent.
Weaknesses
  • RSS + AI summarization (Inoreader, Feedbin plugins) achieves identical UX without signup.
  • 'Daily email from LLM + web search' is solved multiple times over (Substack integrations, etc).
Category
Target Audience

Post Description

I'm trying to scroll social media less, but I keep being afraid of "missing the news". There's no traditional alternative, because while I read some magazines, most of my interests are too niche to have a dedicated magazine I can read regularly.

In the past I've used RSS to make a custom feed. But as a supplement to that, I made this site, which allows you to enter a few interests and then does a daily LLM call with web search to gather news about those interests. Then it emails you what it finds. It does a surprisingly good job of surfacing stuff I'd never have heard of otherwise.

I've been enjoying reading the emails and thought I'd share it. (I'm not planning on monetizing this but I may have to disable signups if it starts costing me too much money)
