AI Analysis

MidCozyCrowd Pleaser

Movie wiki-chain game with daily leaderboard; fun concept but execution is early-stage puzzle game.

Strengths
  • Daily puzzle + multiplayer race creates two distinct play modes with social/competitive hooks
  • Global leaderboard and real-time multiplayer (beta) give engagement loops that drive repeat visits
  • TMDb integration means fresh data; no search constraint forces serendipitous actor/film discovery
Weaknesses
  • Multiplayer beta stability and player retention unknown; most daily puzzle games see 90% churn after day 3
  • No depth beyond connecting nodes—lacks progression, cosmetics, or compelling reasons to return post-tutorial

Post Description

I built FilmLink (https://filmlink.io) because I wanted a movie version of the Wiki Game. To win, you connect films by linking actors to their roles: Movie -> Actor -> Movie -> Actor.

Today is the official launch! It's completely free to play and features:

Daily Puzzle: A new challenge every day with a global leaderboard.

Multiplayer (Beta): Race against friends in real-time to see who can finish fastest, or who can do it in the fewest clicks.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the gameplay. I'm actively collecting feedback on the multiplayer experience and keeping an eye out for bugs to help shape the future roadmap. Let me know if you manage to top the leaderboard today!

I built a daily movie puzzle for cinephiles with AI-assisted analysis

It’s the familiar 'reveal-a-frame' daily puzzle format, but with thoughtful extras: automatic metadata hints (release year, genre), an archive mode to replay past puzzles, and AI-generated analysis to help or justify guesses. The UI in the screenshot looks sharp and usable, but the core idea is derivative — the AI commentary is the hinge feature and will need to deliver genuinely insightful, explainable takes to move this from neat to must-play.
