Post Description

We started with a simple question.

Can a bot buy a DialtoneApp membership?

We looked at Stripe machine payments, Skyfire, Crossmint, Worldpay, Google Universal Commerce Protocol, MCP, A2A, and a bunch of other new agent payment ideas. There is a lot of good work happening. The whole space is moving fast, and it feels like the early web again, except now the user agent may actually be an agent. (ha!)

Trying to get bot allowed merchant account credit card processor (that's not crypto) is like the early days of accepting cards before stripe! We applied to all of them but are still waiting. But instead of just waiting we are building the Network.

Bot budget owners can register cards with us. Website owners list things that bots are allowed to buy via .well-known/* files. Bots search the DialtoneApp catalog, request purchases, and DialtoneApp charges the saved card only when the owner approved rules allow it. The exciting part is bot commerce itself. I think we are about to see a new kind of web traffic. Not just crawlers. Not just scrapers. Actual economic actors with budgets, policies, memory, and jobs to do.
