MidSolve My ProblemCozy

Handwriting OCR for WiFi cards, but Google Lens already does this for free.

Strengths
  • Handles messy handwriting and spacing variations better than standard OCR.
  • One-time £0.99 payment model avoids the subscription fatigue trap.
  • Generates shareable QR codes from extracted credentials for easy team access.
Weaknesses
  • Google Lens and iOS Live Text already extract text from images natively.
  • Paying for a single-purpose wrapper when OS features are free is a hard sell.

Post Description

I've submitted this before but it got lost in the noise so hope it's ok to submit it again, I've added quite a few new features since last time

This is a little app I built to deal with a pain point I find when travelling a lot, often you're in a cafe/pub or airbnb and the wifi details will be written down on a card or on a poster, this simply lets you take a picture of the details and it works out the SSID/Password (using Claude Sonnet) and connects you

New features since the last post:

- Create and share a QR code with others, so they can just scan the QR code and connect

- Use a photo from your library

- Save wifi details to connect later

Open to all feedback/criticism/improvement suggestions

Cheers :)
