MidShip It

Voice input for budgets is nice, but Mint and Copilot already solve this.

Strengths
  • Built by a 17-year-old who identified a genuine friction point in manual data entry.
  • Automatic logo extraction adds a layer of visual polish to the transaction list.
Weaknesses
  • Voice-to-text for finance is a solved pattern with established competitors like Mint.
  • No mention of bank integration, limiting utility to manual voice logging only.

Post Description

I know there’s no shortage of budgeting and expense tracking apps, but most still rely on manual input and feel slow for everyday use.

SimplyBudget lets you log expenses by voice instead of typing everything out.

You can just speak naturally and it extracts the merchant, amount, category, and date automatically. Even applying logos for transaction automatically.

It removes the friction of traditional budgeting apps where every transaction has to be entered manually, making it easier to track spending in real time, especially on the go.

You can also ask things like when you last bought something or how much you’ve spent in a category, and it pulls answers directly from your data.

Built at 17 because I found existing budgeting apps too slow for daily use. Would appreciate any feedback.
