AI Analysis

MidNiche Gem

SwiftUI reimplementation for video frames, but it's proprietary with no code to explore.

Strengths
  • Nine months of production testing across three shipped apps shows real-world validation.
  • Declarative approach to video rendering is a clever domain-specific adaptation.
Weaknesses
  • No open source code or demo available—just a YouTube video of proprietary infrastructure.
  • Nothing for the HN audience to actually use, fork, or learn from directly.

Post Description

RealtimeSwift if the declarative rendering framework behind my suite of connected video apps CueCam Presenter, Video Pencil and Shoot.

I reimplemented most of SwiftUI from scratch in a way that lets me produce video frames for recording, streaming or sending to a virtual camera.

It took me about nine months from start to finish, with another month of bug fixes once it hit production in CueCam.

Ask me anything.
