MidSolve My Problem

Useful gut check, but Google Flights and Kayak Explore already solve this.

Strengths
  • Explicitly separates verdict from booking links to avoid bias.
  • Identifies the specific 'one change' needed to make a trip fit budget.
Weaknesses
  • No novel data source; relies on standard OTA APIs everyone else uses.
  • Solves a problem already handled by existing flexible date search tools.

Post Description

I was planning a trip to St Johns NewFoundland with my family, while researching on multiple websites such as skyscanner.ca, booking.com, expedia, airbnb, etc for 3 hours, we realized the total trip cost is over $2000.

This triggered TripVerdict, as I work in TravelTech and knows most of backend of the system, I realized I can build pre-research gut check tool which help people know what fits vs what not to save their precious hours.

This product solve 3 pain points: 1. I know my budget and destination, does it fit? 2. I know my budget and confused between 2-5 destinations, how do they compare? 3. I know my budget and want to which destination I could make

Uses real time flight, hotel and rentals prices to provide cheap vs comfortable options. Once you are satisfied with the verdict, then booking links are shown to proceed.

There is no tool out there which provide traveller with this opportunity, every OTA is trying to sell. We are here to protect your budget.

Tech Stack : Typescript, Node.js, Supabase, Clerk, 3 service providers, Claude Code, Vercel, Squarespace

Would really love the feedback of this community on whether tackling right pain points through right medium? Do you think of any other monetization channels?

Happy to answer any foundational or technical questions.

TryKora – Know before you spend

The product nails a single, useful interaction: type a price and instantly see how much of your remaining monthly cash it consumes, plus a simple nudge (’wait 72 hours’) to avoid impulse decisions. It’s a clean, focused demo that feels more behavioral tool than budget app — useful as-is for awareness, but it needs personalization (real budgets, category context or configurable rules) to move from novelty to something people rely on regularly.
